A Few Changes You'll Find on The Bittman Project

www.bittmanproject.com

First and foremost, thank you for your support of The Bittman Project; we couldn’t do this without you. We have a couple of changes in store for you this fall that we’re excited to tell you about.

The schedule

You’ve asked for us to update our content and we’re doing it: Following our weekly Monday email with dinner suggestions, we’ll continue the week with things like Tips, Tricks, Hacks, and Secrets; Food Fights; the Minimalist Returns; guest columnists; giveaways and conversations. We’ll be doing an average of four days a week.

The store

If you haven’t seen it already, let us point you to The Bittman Project Store, where we’ll be offering products and recommendations from some of our favorite purveyors — from fish to coffee to olive oil to appliances and more.

What do these changes mean for paying subscribers?

—> More recipes and subscriber-only content

Every Monday, there will be four recipes: Each one will be a dinner dish we love right now, and you’ll consider cooking. Soon. The first one will be free for all subscribers; the remaining three are for Bittman Project paying subscribers. We wish we could make everything we publish free to everyone, but then we’d be out of business.

Monday recipes will include our Super-Cheap Dinner posts comprised of affordable ingredients (previously on Thursdays). “Affordable” is a relative term, of course, but the idea is that if you use these recipes over the course of a year, you’ll more than offset the cost of an annual subscription.

—> An updated recipe archive

Looking for a recipe from weeks ago? You can find it by typing in an ingredient in the search bar, and accessing recipes through the Recipe Archive or the Cheap Dinner Archive.

—> Twice-a-month conversation threads with Mark and the rest of us

Each month, we’ll have two subscriber-only conversations. For September, we’ve got an Ask Mark Anything on Friday, Sept. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. EST. Then we’ll host a fall cooking conversation on Friday, Oct. 1, also from 1 to 3 p.m EST. As usual, we’ll send the link to members when the conversation begins.

—> One-Dish Wednesdays

Every season, on a designated Wednesday, paying members can cook a fast, easy meal with Kerri Conan over Zoom and ask questions along the way. We’ll send you the shopping list and zoom link the Monday beforehand. Recipes will be limited to those that take about 30 minutes. Stay tuned for details.

—> Giveaways and other swag

Look for occasional Friday giveaways from Boos Boards, Burlap & Barrel, OXO, and many more.

—> Price breaks on subscriptions and gift memberships

Stay tuned as we move toward the fall holidays.

Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram where we’ll continue the conversation.

It would be really great if you’d update your recipe posts to include micro data for the recipes (https://schema.org/Recipe) so I could import them into my meal planning / grocery list app. I’d be a lot more likely to remember to cook them!

Sounds great. I’m particularly excited about cooking a fast, easy meal with Kerri Conan over Zoom. I hope the recipes will include vegetarian or pescatarian options as much as possible.
