It’s your last chance to order the glorious citrus in the Bittman x Bi-Rite California Citrus Experience. The order cutoff is Thursday, February 17 at 8 p.m. EST.
Day out, most of us in the Northeast are getting citrus grown on a large scale, bred not for flavor but for shelf-life and yield. Until Thursday evening, through Bi-Rite Market — the wonderful grocery stores in San Francisco’s Mission and Western Addition neighborhoods — we can get the good stuff.
It all started three years ago, when Mark called Sam Mogannam, founder of Bi-Rite Market, to ask if they could try to figure out a way to fill a pre-paid USPS shipping box with citrus and send it to him. It was a big ask, but totally doable. He loved it so much, he wanted us all to enjoy it — and Sam made it happen.
This year’s Bi-Rite x Bittman California Citrus Experience Box includes peak season varietals such as lemons, limes, oranges, kumquats, and more, for $80, plus shipping. The 10- to 12-pound box is hand-picked and hand-packed by Bi-Rite’s produce team. You can order by clicking below.
The Bi-Rite team is always available to answer questions at guestservice@biritemarket.com. Orders placed by Thursday will be mailed out the week of February 21. Thank you so much for your support.
